The “Poker Face” singer Lady Gaga has become the first person to have over 10 million fans on Facebook surpassing US president Barack Obama. The number of Gaga fans stood at 10,673,476, while Obama has 9,824,885, according to a new research conducted by online site Famecount. The singer, who is famous for her eccentric dress sense and outlandish behavior is still at the sixth position overall behind Texas Hold ‘em Poker, Michael Jackson, Mafia Wars, Facebook and the US TV show Family Guy are ahead of Lady Gaga. But she is the only living person to have more than 10 million Facebook fans.

“Lady Gaga has seen her fan base across Facebook more than double this year and is currently the fastest growing star. Achieving 10 million fans is a remarkable testament both to her stardom and to Facebook’s extraordinary reach,” said Daniel Dearlove from Famecount. A few days ago, Gaga had said in an interview that contrary to the popular perception she was a simple girl inside. The diva said that away from the cameras she was a lady with a strong moral code.

Talking to Daily Star, the pop star has talked about her Monster Ball show in Boston. “I am Lady GaGa because in private I am a lady.“Don’t be fooled by the way I look, underneath all this I know exactly who I am and what my boundaries are. They are all important to me. As a performer I’m outrageous and wild but as a person I have a very strong moral code. I would never cheat on a man. I believe in honesty and integrity.“My greatest sacrifice is love. I’ve only ever been in love once and I had to walk away because I had to put my career first.”

Famecount added that Gaga gains an average 140,000 followers per day and the singer is all set to get 11 million friends very soon. Gaga has thanked her fans in a video posted on her site. “I love you guys so much. Thank you so much for all your love and support and for sticking by me. Become my friend on Facebook – I’ll never forget you,” Gaga said in the video.
