Motorola Droid X Android 2.2 Froyo Official Update Still Eludes

Motorola’s Android-powered smartphone, the Droid X, which was released by Verizon on July 15, is regarded by many as one of the few cool Android phones available in the market. The Droid X is bulky and is slightly bigger than other high-end smartphones available in the market but the device comes loaded with lots of latest features.


Droid X runs Android 2.1 OS platform and is in line to receive the updated version of Android 2.1 – Android 2.2 Froyo in next few days. Many of the top Android-powered smartphone have already received the update, but Droid X is still to receive it and the wait is now getting frustrating for the Droid X users.

Motorola’s latest Android-powered device, the Droid 2, which was also released by Verizon, comes with Android 2.2. The phone went on sale from August 12 and it managed to cash on ‘Froyo trend’ by doing good business.

But Droid X users are now feeling left out and is eagerly waiting for the Froyo update from past few weeks. Reports claimed that Motorola has delayed the update due to some reasons but the delay is certainly annoying the Droid X users now.

Few days ago, Motorola had announced that it would start updating Droid X from September and September has started but there is still no confirmation from either Motorola or Verizon that from when the Droid X would start receiving the update. Leaked update hit the internet few days ago and most of the Droid X users have already updated their Droid Xs to Android 2.2.
