San Francisco: There is a lot of excitement in the air as Apple's music event is all set to begin in a few hours here. Lots of speculations and rumors are doing rounds but the most realistic is the expectation that Apple will launch new iPod model.

Apple is riding high on the success of its iPad and iPhone but September is traditionally the month for its digital music player upgrade. Steve Jobs is expected to be on stage for the 10 a.m. event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts here in San Francisco and is likely to announce a front-facing camera on the iPod Touch, according to some analysts which will allow use of Apple's new FaceTime video chat technology that comes with the iPhone 4.

Also it is being expected that Jobs may showcase a Wi-Fi-equipped iPod Nano, which would let users stream music. Reportedly, Apple is finishing building a $1 billion data center in North Carolina, and also last year bought streaming music site Lala.com, which led to rumors that Apple is preparing to launch a cloud-based service.

Most experts believe that Apple is likely to focus only on its iPod line, there are rumors that it will unveil new features for Apple TV. Bloomberg reported on Tuesday that Apple will announce a new $99 set-top box that includes a Netflix subscription movie service.

Then there are speculations about Apple announcing a 7-inch iPad tablet but most analysts are of the view that it is not likely at his time.
